"Smartie" Test Homework

Well, it is here...Test Week! I know that my little ones are as well prepared as they can be and that we have worked very hard. But ohhhhh the nerves! I try to explain to them that it is just a test and that they take tests every week in class. Somehow, I don't think that soothes their nerves any. I have also tried to get them enthusiastic by explaining that it is a chance to show off how smart they truly are. Again, I am not sure that has any result either. As I attempt to calm my nerves, I am chanting back to myself the phrase I tell them every day...."All you need to do is your best!" That is all any of us can do right?

If any of you have advice on how to ease little nerves (and big ones too), please let me know.

In the mean time, here is a set of cards that I created for my students during test week. They are going to be thrilled when they see it with the Smarties, as they typically do not receive homework passes and this is pretty close to one. I hope that you find them helpful.

As many of you know I am new to teacher blogging, and am soooooo thrilled to have found Classroom Freebies! What a great place for amazing ideas!

Sorry, I meant to say " cute and good idea" not "cute and cute idea". I guess it is time for me to go to bed. ;)

Thanks for these. Although we don't have rolls of Smarties in Canada..we do have Smarties..in boxes and they are chocolate candies like M&M's. I can print these out and give the kids some mini boxes of Smarties and they will still work! The students in my class will be thrilled to get these when we start standardized tests soon!

You are so very welcome! I didn't know you didn't have Smarties in Canada. I wish you the best during your testing time. It is quickly approaching for my class as well.

Happy Teaching,
Laura
