Handy Name Label Sheets

Hey all! How are all of you? First, I want to send blessings and prayers to Aurora. My heart just aches for all people involved. You know, I am embarrassed to admit this, but I think sometimes about people who commit senseless acts of violence and consider that they were once sitting in an elementary classroom. I wonder where and when people change to that extreme.

Ugh! Anyway, I hope that I haven't made everyone leave with those thoughts because I have a great idea to share with you. Years ago when I was first teaching Kindergarten a friend of mine, Lisa Pilgrim, introduced me to this tip and I would like to share it with you all.  Here it is.....

Create an entire sheet of labels in advance for each student in your class.

I print these before the first week of school and place them on the student's desk. I usually use the first couple for my behavior chart, library cards, job charts, etc. Then as the students need their names written for the pencil boxes, workbooks, composition books and so on, they simply peel and stick. This was so very helpful when I taught kindergarten, but I still use it in the upper grades. My kiddos are responsible for keeping the labels in their desk after the first use and they know not to use them unless directed to do so. It has been a huge time saver. Plus, the labels look so clean and organized ;)

Please feel free to pin, share, and comment!
Hugs,

I've done this for a few years now and I'll second the recommendation. It is so easy to slap these on on those first few days!

You are super smart . . . print a WHOLE sheet for EACH kid. I always put all of my kids on the same sheet, but this is a much better idea!! Thanks for sharing :)
