Made it Monday

I have been back in my room and I just can't seem to stay focused. My head keeps jumping from thought to thought. Isn't it crazy how we all manage to get things done. I so enjoy reading Tara's (4th Grade Frolics) Made it on Monday posts and I am joining in on the fun

I have been working on a carnival theme (or should I say pop corn as the way it worked out) inspired by Melanie from Schoolgirl Style. So, I painted and Modge-Podged some wooden bins for a workstation table. I am thinking I will put vocab cards or math facts in them. I haven't gotten that far into my thought process yet. As you can see the one on the left is made from the Dots on Turquoise collection from Creative Teaching Press and the one on the right is made from gift wrap from Party City.

My next project was to actually hang some of the things that I've been working on rather than sitting in a massive pile on a table. So, I finally put up my clock labels and alphabet circles.

I hung up the alphabet circles without a butcher paper backing because we are going to be having our Smart Boards and Projectors mounted on the white board soon. Technically, we weren't supposed to hang them at all, but I asked if I could take mine down after our open house before school starts. On a side note, last year was the first year that we were allowed to have butcher paper covering our boards. Unfortunately, we still can't hang things from the ceiling, have fabric in our room of any sort (unless it is marked flame retardant), lamps and so forth. The red stripes in this picture is made of gift wrap (thanks to Melanie again for that idea...although I can't display it on a window as she suggested) I figured I try it on a bulletin board.

This is the wall on the outside of my classroom. The poster on top was given to me by a friend who found it at one of her amazing Dollar Store trips! Each student has a large sheet of yellow paper with their name attached. I will be attaching student work with a paper clip to the yellow paper.

Oh my goodness, I am so excited to see what everyone has made. I so wish that I had made something for home and had done more, but tomorrow is my last day of summer break :(  So now, what have you been creating? Join in and link up with Tara. Don't forget to make some coffee and get your Pinterest button ready!

I did a "hollywood" theme about 2 yrs ago and used the popcorn stuff you have. Yours is WAY cuter than mine was (jealous).

The clock is my favorite!!!

I LOVE your room!

I also LOVE how we can have all kinds of paper, everywhere hanging in our rooms, but material has to be fire retardant...

Love the movie theme... though I don't use it year-round, some years I do it for curriculum night. Parents get a popcorn tub to much on that says "Thanks for Popping In". I also like your alphabet.

I love the clock labels! I am getting ready to add the minutes to the clock in my room, but I had not thought about adding the quarters and half-past labels. Thanks for the great idea!
