Hi everyone! I am super thrilled about my new school year. My students are terrific and my colleagues are the absolute best! However, the tension and stress is starting to creep up on me. As I am reading many of your posts, I see that it may be happening to you too. Many of us, work well beyond our contract hours for weeks on end and the demands of state standards, curriculum planning, meetings, classroom management etc. can take its toll. Not that I wouldn't have it any other way, I enjoy having high expectations because I know that at times it makes me a better teacher. However, we all must make sure that we take care of ourselves and get the stress "in check". Otherwise, we are going to be setting ourselves up for exhaustion. Now, you are thinking "uh-Laura, duh!" But, I just want you to remind you to be kind to yourself. Because one thing that I do know about teachers (myself included) at times we take everyone else and our selves.

With that being said, please share a few things that you do to help you with teacher tension. I think it would be terrific to share some of our amazing ideas on how we reduce stress and tension in our lives. Have fun with this...be creative and silly if you'd like. Don't forget to link up. Lastly, but certainly the most important....I give my stress, worries, and tensions to God. The counting of my blessings seems to put things into perspective.
