It has been quite awhile since I have posted, but it feels great to be back. It has been an incredible school year and I can't believe that the end is nearly here.
One of the many great things about the year was that I had another amazing intern, Ms. Sagastume. She has been such a blessing getting to know and I wish her nothing but the best. Isn't it funny how you have such a short time to the share the many wonderful, yet challenging experiences of a classroom teacher? I always feel like there is more to do an say and I want to keep my interns just a bit longer. Selfish, I know, but it's true :)
Last year, I had asked my colleagues to complete a Google Doc form to enter any words of advice to my intern, Ms. Kirby (who by the way, just finished her first year of teaching with my daughter in her class). The comments that my fellow teachers made touched my heart and re-inspired me. I compiled them all into a book and presented them to hear along with handwritten notes of advice and encouragement from the students on her last day of internship.
As I was thinking about what to do for Ms. Sagastume as a special send off, I remembered the "Words of Advice" book and am going to make it a new tradition. I read through all of the amazing messages and feel energized to finish the year. I am sharing the file with you in hopes that you too feel re-inspired. How do you make your intern's last day special? Do you have any special words of advice to share? I'd love to here from you!
